There is always more misery among the lower classes than there is humanity in the higher. ~ Victor Hugo

  • What’s BLiggy listening to? “Na Na Na” by My Chemical Romance. The BLig music scouts found this somehow and sent it to me. It’s a totally pirated version recorded off the radio or something so the quality isn’t spectacular, but it’s good enough. I will be buying the album at 12:01 AM on November 22. Super stoked.[audio:http://www.blig.ca/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/01-Na-Na-Na.mp3|titles=01 Na Na Na]

  • via the Michael Moore mailing list:  “The family of John Steinbeck, the Nobel Prize-winning author of “The Grapes of Wrath” and other American classics, and the Center for Steinbeck Studies, have announced that they are giving their prestigious John Steinbeck Award to Michael Moore. Here’s the statement they’ve released to the press. Steinbeck’s son, Thomas, will present the award to Mike next month at a ceremony at San Jose State University and had this to say this morning: “Michael Moore is a courageous man and a great selection for the John Steinbeck Award. My father would have loved him; my father was the Michael Moore of his time.” ~ Burdell

  • Fueling your private jet with hypocrisy. I’ve never liked Bono, and if the statements in this story are true then he’s even more of a dick than I imagined him to be. ~ BLiggy

  • An Italian soccer team filled the empty seats in its stadium with fake fans. Literally. They used 2D printouts. Syncs perfectly with all the fake injuries that the players get. ~ BLiggy

  • Helsinki finally gets rid of a giant pile of snow from last winter. Just in time for this winter. This would never happen in Calgary because the snow never gets plowed here (vote Nenshi on October 18). ~ BLiggy

  • I’ll reserve judgment on the BlackBerry tablet until I see it, however I can tell you this with 100% certainty; they are too late. Apple did it first and in this business, doing it first is equal to doing it best. All the momentum belongs to Apple, and for that reason the BlackBerry tablet has FAIL written all over it IMO. ~ BLiggy
