This is about as as new as it gets. It was only released last midnight.

I’m not an Offspring freak in the same way I am with VH or Foo Fighters, but I do own all their albums and listen to them regularly.

Here’s what I like about them; they’re like AC/DC in that you always know more or less what you’re gonna get. It’s musical comfort food. I bought this song before I had even heard it. I knew I was going to like it. I also know that the album cuts are going to be great. I find The Offspring release palatable singles, but the really good shit lives deeper in the catalogue.

I enjoy that – mostly because of Dexter’s voice – every song song has a complete “balls to the wall” sound. Their sound is so dense. It’s liked getting smacked with something big and heavy…I dunno…a pool table or a statue of a guy on a horse or something like that. Their mantra seems to be “Put the gas pedal to the floor. Leave it there. Forever.” Not as intense as the mighty Mötörhead, but a similar approach.

Anyways, here’s the new single “Days Go By”. Like I said, it’s less than 12 hours old as of this writing. The new album comes out sometime around the end of June/beginning of July. Euro tour starts in May.

One final note; if you’re not going to play this at maximum volume, then don’t even bother at all. The Offspring sound better when all available decibels are utilized.
