It’s pretty well known that I have a preference for Apple over Microsoft, but it looks like they did this thing right (certainly better than Blackberry). The hardware looks great, but we’ll have to see if Windows is up to snuff.

I hope it’s awesome and a price war results, however weakness #1 has already reared it’s head, and it’s nothing new from the Redmond crowd…too many choices. People are dumb, and people are confused by technology. In general they need less choice, not more.

Do you want the Windows RT device? Or the Windows 8 Pro device? Or the Windows 8 Home Edition device? Or the Windows RT Home and Office device? Or the Windows XP Legacy device? Or the Windows XP Pro device? Or the Windows RT Daylight Savings Time device? Or the Windows 8 Student Edition device?

Apple offers you an iPad. Your options are 3G equipped or not. 16, 32, 64 GB. That’s it. Other than that, the hardware is identical. The OS is identical. Choosing is easy, which makes buyers remorse is less likely.

To be continued, I’m sure…
